Emberlink is a small game made by an independent creator. We keep as little about you as the game needs to work.
What the game keeps
- Your progress (levels, gold, gems, gear, your dojo…), on your phone. Until you sign in, nothing leaves your phone.
- If you sign in (with Google, Apple or an email and password): a player id, the email address, and a copy of your progress as your cloud save, so it can follow you to another phone. Your password is kept by Google Firebase, scrambled so nobody can read it, us included.
- Your dojo card (only once you've signed in), which other players meet on the Explore road: your player name, dojo name and look, level, power, trophies and guards.
- The year you were born, asked once before your first ad or purchase. Only an age group (under 13, or 13 and over) is kept, on your phone, to keep ads and shopping right for your age.
- Your purchases: which pack you bought and the store's receipt number, so a purchase can't go missing and can be restored on a new phone.
Ads
The game only plays an ad when you tap a button that offers one for a reward. There are never pop-up ads or banners. Ads come from Google AdMob and are always non-personalised: AdMob doesn't build a profile of you or use your activity in other apps. For players under 13 the game also tells AdMob the player is a child, so only ads suitable for children are shown. AdMob sees your device's internet address and basic device details while it delivers an ad.
Purchases
Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play, which handle your payment; we never see your card details. RevenueCat checks the store's receipt for us, and our server records the purchase against your player id (buying asks you to sign in first, so nothing you buy is lost with your phone).
What we never do
- No tracking you across other apps or websites, and no personalised ads.
- We never sell or share your information with anyone.
- We never ask for your real name, contacts, photos or location. Please don't put your real name in your player or dojo name.
Where it's stored
Cloud saves use Google Firebase (Authentication and Firestore), on servers in Sydney, Australia. Like any online service, Firebase sees your device's internet address while it sends your save.
Deleting your data
Options → Account → Delete account removes your cloud save, your dojo card and your account for good, and this phone starts fresh. Removing the game from your phone erases what's kept on it. No longer have the game? Fill in our account deletion form (a Google Form, see Delete your account) or email cnepstudio@gmail.com, and we delete your account within 30 days.
